Kevin T. Garvey

Kevin Thomas Garvey, 66, of Bethel, Connecticut passed away on Wednesday April 5, 2023.  Kevin was born in Norwalk, Connecticut. He was the eldest child of Thomas and Betty Fahan Garvey.  His family moved to Bethel in 1966.  

He was a 1974 graduate of Bethel High School where he excelled in football and track.  He met his future wife of 45 years, Nancy Carlo, while in high school and they married in April, 1978.  Kevin and Nancy raised two children, Andrea Faust and Daniel Garvey and have been blessed with four grandchildren: Emma, Aryana, Randy, and Charleigh. 

Kevin worked for over 35 years in the Specialty Metal Coating Industries both in operations and sales for companies located in Waterbury, Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts, until his retirement. 

Kevin was an avid New York Mets fan, watching many games with his son Dan.  He was also an awesome griller, making his favorite and famous BBQ ribs and chicken for many of his family and friends to enjoy.   He was involved with the Bethel Pop Warner football program serving on its Board of Directors and coaching for over 10 years with his coaching buddies, Jeff, Mike and Fidel.  He enjoyed woodworking and built several pieces of furniture that his family will always treasure.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Nancy, son, Daniel and daughter, Andrea, four grandchildren, his twin sister Kathy Menti, and brother Dennis, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Betty and his brother Keith Garvey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 18th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church (26 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel) at 10:00 am.
