Kenneth W. Evans

Kenneth W. Evans, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 20, 2024. He was 86 years old.

Born on October 31, 1938 in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Billy K. Evans and the late Ruth Knipple (James Rumbarger). Kenneth graduated from Bethel High School in 1957 after which he attended Hartwick College receiving his bachelors degree in 1961. Kenneth married the love of his life Elizabeth Hislop on June 30, 1962. Together they enjoyed 62 years of wedded bliss.
Kenneth was the treasurer and comptroller at Newtown Savings Bank for many years before his retirement. He was an avid golfer and when he wasn’t on a golf course, he enjoyed watching golf, basketball and football on TV. He seldom missed watching UCONN basketball games (both men’s and women’s teams). He was also a devoted fan of the New York Giants.

Mr. Evans is not only survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, but also his children; Melinda Soisson (John) and Michael Evans (Maria), his grandchildren; Jessica Soisson, Dawn Soisson his sister Marsha Rumbarger, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Nancy Krizan and Carol Cole.
