Kathy A. Ashby

Kathy A. Ashby, of Accord, NY, passed away on May 13, 2025 at Danbury Hospital. She was 61 years old.

Born on December 2, 1963 in Sharon, CT, daughter of the late Clarence and Shirley (Stoutenburgh) Parent. She was the wife of the late Mark Ashby Sr. 

Kathy graduated from Dover high School. She worked at Walmart in Kingston for 20 years.  Kathy was an avid camper at the Rondout Valley Resort in Accord, NY where she camped along side her family. She enjoyed attending Bingo when she could and doing scratch offs. She loved to travel to Lake George with her grandchildren every year. She looked forward to going out to dinner, mostly Wednesday nights with her best friend, Luanne Vanwagenen. She took joy in doing Christmas shoe boxes for children in need every year with St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rosendale, NY. Kathy enjoyed every moment spent with her close friends and family especially all her grandchildren. When they had an event or activity she always made a point to be there to support them in everything they did. She was a stubborn yet kind and generous person and would help anyone whenever she could. 

Kathy will be deeply missed by all her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her beloved children; Mark Ashby Jr. and his wife Nikia, Daniel Ashby and Connie VanWagenen and her husband Patrick, her 9 grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, Dj, Madison, Mason, Patricia, Paige, George and Mark JrJr, and her siblings; Sabrina Briehof (Ronald), Clarence Parent (Pat), Keith Parent and Scott Parent. Many nieces and nephews. She Predeceased by her brother Arthur Parent SR and Step father Edward Stoutenburgh.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements.  Please visit Danburymemorial.com to send the family condolences.
