Kathleen Marie Reda

Kathleen Marie (Bohacs) Reda passed away suddenly at Danbury Hospital on October 19th, 2022, much to the surprise and grief of her family.  

Kathie, as she preferred to be called, was born August 28, 1951 in Greenwich, CT but spent the last 45 years of her life in Newtown with her beloved husband of Louis Reda and raised their two daughters. Kathie and Lou celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 30, 2022.  She was an avid reader and movie/TV lover. Her favorites were horror, sci-fi, superhero movies and crime/supernatural TV shows, the love of which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. But there is nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. Holidays were always her favorite times: decorations, music, laughter, good food and party crackers. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Rose (Evanko) Bohacs and Frank Bohacs as well as her step-mother Ruth (Meilinggaard) Bohacs; sisters June Thibeault and Patricia Style and step sister Kathy Evans.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband Louis Reda, previously of Norwalk and their two children; Kelley Landers of Newtown CT and Meagan Howard of New Haven CT, as well as their husbands, Leo Landers and William Howard. Also her adoring grandchildren, Daniel Michael, Ella Rose Michael and Evelyn Lamberti, as well as Zachary Landers and Mia Howard. Kathie is also survived by brother-in-law Robert Thibeault of Newton, MA, nephews Christopher and Jeffrey Colucci and their families of Pennsylvania, step sister Franny Murphy of Greenwich CT, step sister Ruth Hagman and her husband Roland of Molokai HI and step brother Terry Murphy and family of Milford CT. 

A celebration of life will be held for Kathie in the spring of 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. To light a candle or leave a condolence in her memory, please continue to the Tribute Wall tab above.
