Karen Soodeen Ramlakhan

We are gathered here today in the memory of Karen Soodeen Ramlakhan who transitioned peacefully on Wednesday October 14, 2020. Karen was born on July 12, 1973 in Trinidad and Tobago to Perry Soodeen and the late Radha Rooplal.

She was a Program Supervisor at the South East Consortium, working with children and adults who had special needs. She was passionate about the children, and able to find a unique way to connect with each of them as individuals. As a natural leader and powerhouse, she was a community advocate and liaison for services that will make that child excel in life, not just in school.  She was their advocate, a coordinator and a counselor.  

She was a DIY Queen who loved experimenting with various arts and crafts which included soapmaking, jewelry making and her latest obsession of collecting gems.  She loved the ocean and would never turn down a beach, river or water park lime.   We often joke and say if mermaids existed, she would have been one for sure, right there bullying the other sea creatures.  She was never one to shy away from the kitchen as she loved cook, especially curry crab and dumplings.  Those left to cherish her memory include her Husband Steve, daughter Kayden, Father Perry, siblings Rita and Roger, sister- in-law Ann-Marie and Lauren, brother-in-law Winston and, mother-in-law Dolly. The list of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, other family members and friends are too many to name.

She has left an immeasurable void in all our hearts and will be dearly missed. Loving submitted by the Family.
