On May 31, 1997, Karen married Joseph Bachmann. They made their home and raised their son Joseph Bachmann Jr. in New Fairfield, CT. Family was the center of Karen’s life and her infectious laugh could brighten the darkest day. She was a caring and generous woman who was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She will be dearly missed.
Ocean City, Maryland was Karen’s favorite family vacation destination. From her first trip in 1981, it quickly became the gathering place for summer fun with all her relatives. Feasting on steamed crabs was a highlight for everyone.
Karen had so much love to give to her family, friends and beyond. She was a lifelong supporter of humanitarian and wildlife causes, with a particular love for dolphins and moose. She enjoyed following the Yankees and Chicago Blackhawks, golfing, gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune and all things purple. Her happy characters were Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.
