Juliana Martinez passed away peacefully on September 25, 2020 at Hancock Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danbury, CT. Juliana was born on November 22, 1929 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Juliana worked as a teacher for many years in Puerto Rico. When she moved to New York, she became a social worker for the City of New York and was very passionate about her work. Juliana also enjoyed traveling several times a year. Juliana was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Juliana is survived by her four children; daughter Sara Arroyo, son Jose Arroyo (Wife Alma), son Robert Adorno (wife Donna), and daughter Jacqueline Totino (husband James). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Juliana is predeceased by her daughter Marta and son Ruben.
A Celebration of Life Gathering, following social distancing guidelines, will be held on Tuesday September 29th, 2020 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St, Danbury CT 06810) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a prayer service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens, NY at 1 p.m.
