Joseph Alfred Pagano, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 18, 2025 at Danbury Hospital. He was 90 years old.
Born on September 23, 1934 in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Andrew and Madeline (Pellechio) Pagano. Joseph graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, he was a native New Yorker and a long time resident of The Bronx and a Yankees fan. He met then married the love of his life Carmela in February of 1955, together they raised their two children, Joseph and Madeline. Joseph and Carmela had a marriage that stood the test of time, they were married for 65 years. She predeceased Joseph on April 11, 2020.
Joseph was the manager of the Bowser parking garage in New York City for many years before retiring and on occasion he would have a celebrity encounter at work. He could entertain people for hours with funny jokes, interesting stories of his childhood and growing up in Harlem NY. He had a passion for art and made beautiful sketch work and oil paintings. He enjoyed cooking, music and vintage cars. Through the years Joseph saved many things, oddly enough if you needed something he probably had it in a box or cookie tin somewhere. He loved sipping his wine while listening to the operatic music of Andrea Bocelli. Joseph was beloved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. It is with great memories, sadness, and love, that we say goodbye.
Joseph is survived by his loving children; Joseph (Belinda) and Madeline, his grandchildren; Nadine (Joseph) and his great grandchildren; Joseph, Sawyer and Angeline.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on March 1, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Peter’s Church, 104 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810.
