Jose DeJesus Mendes

Jose DeJesus Mendes, of Danbury, CT, passed away on August 28, 2024 at Danbury Hospital. He was 62 years old.

Born on December 7, 1961 in Ferreirós do Dão, Portugal, son of the late Joaquim DeJesus Mendes and the late Domitilia Ferreira Mendes. Jose was a graduate of Danbury High School. He worked at Home Depot in Derby as a Customer Service Associate.

Jose enjoyed playing soccer. He was a true Trekkie and loved Star Trek. What Jose enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing with his brother and brother-in-law.

Jose is survived by his siblings; Rosa (Ernie) Faria, Amandio (Kenia) Mendes, his nieces and nephews; Julie, Christina, Emilly, Jessie and Alex and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his nephew Matthew.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Monday September 9, 2024 from 5pm-7pm with a service at 6:30pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street).
