Jose M. Almonte passed away on October 1, 2020 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Jose was born on February 28, 1936 in Janico Juncalito, Dominican Republic to the late Julia Rosa (Fernandez) and Juan Pablo Almonte. Husband of Digna I. (Collado).
Jose was deeply loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife Digna I. Almonte, his loving children Maria A. Almonte, Jacqueline C. Acosta, Neil A. Almonte, Lorraine Almonte, and Nilda Almonte; as well as thirteen grandchildren: Jerry, Alexis, Tiffany, Giselle, Garvey, Kirby, Kenneth, Dylan, Candi, Miranda, Andrew, Alicia, Keyli, and a baby girl to arrive soon, Jasmine; and lastly, six great-grandchildren: Ayra, Scarlett, and Atlas, Vincent, Roslyn, and Miles.He is survived by six brothers: Tiburcio “Mirito” Almonte, Abigail Almonte, Arsenio Almonte, Ramón Almonte, Juan Emilio Almonte, and Ramón “Ramóncito” Almonte. Two sisters: Rosaura “Rosita” Almonte and Maria “Mercedes” Almonte. Also, many loving nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be live streamed on Monday October 5, 2020 from 9:00am – 10:30am. To view services, please follow the link on the obituary page. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday October 5, 2020 at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe church (29 Golden Hill Rd.
