John Sfayer, 66, of Danbury, CT passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Thursday February 4th, 2021 at Regional Hospice in Danbury.
Born in Canicattini Bagni, Italy on July 4th 1954, he moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1957 and was adopted shortly after. His love of cars led to his career as an auto mechanic and later automotive teacher for disadvantaged youth at Lincoln Hall in Lincolndale, NY until his retirement. During his retirement years he enjoyed fishing, gardening, building furniture and maintained his love of cars. He also recently was able to reconnect with his biological family in Italy.
He was predeceased by his loving mother-in-law Mary Comerford and his biological brothers Sabastiano and Gaetano.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda (Comerford) Sfayer, brother Joseph LaVeglia of Gloucester Township, New Jersey, brother-in-law Eugene Comerford (Karen) of Danbury, step-son Ed Mulrenan of Salem, Massachusetts, step-daughter Chantel Comerford of Danbury, step-grandson Daegan, of Salem, Massachusetts, step-granddaughter Faith of Danbury, many nieces and nephews worldwide and his beloved dog, Patches.
