John E. Nickerson

John E. Nickerson, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on September 7, 2025. He was 63 years old.

John was born on December 20, 1961 in Allentown, PA, son of John H. and Joan (Svec) Nickerson. John was raised in Stamford, CT and Marlboro, NJ. He graduated from Marlboro High School and moved to Newtown, CT and made home in Danbury, CT.

John was an artist- he loved to pencil draw and write poetry. He had a great love for animals and his family; he adored his nieces and nephews.

John faced many challenges in life, but instead of giving up he looked to the Lord and picked faith over everything else. John never used drugs or alcohol but always went to God in his deepest struggles.

John is lovingly survived by his parents; John and Joan of Newtown, CT, his brother TJ and his wife Saida of Deerfield, FL, his Irish twin and baby sister Barbara Reiss and her husband Robert, his nieces; Molly Reiss and Farrah Nickerson, and his nephews; James and Josh Reiss.

The Nickerson family would like to express their deep gratitude to all of the caregivers who supported and helped John for all of these years.  God bless you all.

A private service will be held. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
