John Richard Kovacs passed away on September 22 at the age of 54. He was born December 30, 1968 in Naples, Italy to Etelka Kovacs and the late Bill Kovacs, both natives of Hungary. He lived in Riverdale, NY, Stamford, CT, Huntington Beach, CA and Ridgefield, CT.
John is predeceased by his father, Bill Kovacs and is survived by his loving family, his mother, Etelka Polgar Kovacs of Stamford, CT, his wife Martha Pagan Kovacs and daughters, Julianna & Gabriella of Ridgefield, CT and his sister, Cathie of Monroe, CT.
He graduated Westhill High School in Stamford in 1986. He became a licensed electrician, starting his professional career working for DeMartino Electric and others before starting his own business. He was too giving to be a good business man, preferring to subcontract for other electricians.
John was outgoing and genuine. He knew everyone and was a friend to all that met him. He had a kind heart that would help anyone that needed it. Always up for anything, his favorite past time was (offshore) fishing, like his father. He had a deep love of music and was a big UFC & longtime Raiders fan.
John will be remembered for his crazy antics in his youth, making people laugh, big hugs and really long text messages.
His presence in our lives will be missed beyond words.
Inurnment will be private with a Celebration of Life to be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to his daughters’ college fund https://everloved.com/life-of/john-kovacs/donate/
