On January 24, 2024, John Peter Coscia of South Kent Ct. formally of Myrtle Beach, SC, died peacefully with his family by his side at Danbury Hospital. He was 92 years old.
John was born on January 22,1932 in Bronx Ny, son of the late Rose Dionisio. John proudly served in US Navy from 1951-1955. He was the recipient of Ct. veterans wartime service medal.
John married the love of his life Marilyn Ann Drummond in 1959.
He was the owner operator of Glenville Auto a Citco service station in Glenville, Ct from 1962-2000. When he sold the business he moved to New Milford, Ct. and eventually worked at a USPS as a postal carrier until he retired and moved to Myrtle Beach. John loved to watch golf, football, and mostly Fox News. He also enjoyed listening to jazz music. You could often find John eating a entire bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or a tub of vanilla ice cream equipped with his personal spoon.
John is survived by his loving children; John M (Tammy Montgomery -Coscia), Nancy A. Surace (Joseph Surace) and Michael P. His grandchildren; James M. Coscia (longtime girlfriend Nicole Siebel), Michaela Coscia (Fiancé Kenny Mittlestadt), DJ Surace and Christina Surace and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn, mother Rose and brother Maurice.
A celebration of life, love, and family will be held at a later date. He will be buried in family plot along with his late wife’s ashes. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
