John V. Botelho Jr.,” Bo”,82, passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a sudden and unexpected illness stemming from his cancer treatment.
He was born on November 18th, 1941 in Danbury, CT, son of the late John V. and Christine (Arcieri) Botelho. Bo graduated from Henry Abbott Technical High School in the Electrical Trade in 1961.
On August 20th, Bo married the love of his life Joan Ann Farrell. Together they built a house, raised their two sons and lived a life full of love. He enjoyed sharing his passion of tractors, tools and knives with any and everyone. Bo was a Jack of all trades. In his youth he worked as a tow truck driver for many years, enjoyed taking the calls and always being on the road assisting others. He also worked as a manager for an auto body shop for many years, finally retiring while owning his own business, Bo’s RadiatorPlus . He loved to tinker in the garage and would “fix” anything even if it meant reengineering it. He was an avid Nascar fan, his favorite driver being #3 Dale Earnhardt. Bo was also a member and longtime bartender at the Knights of Columbus Council 29 in Danbury.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan, brother in law William Farrell and brother Jim. Bo is survived by his two sons Timothy, wife Kim and grandson Jack, Todd and wife Julie, sister Linda Curran, her husband Frank and his sister in law Jo Ann Farrell. His nieces Laura and Lindsay,his nephews Jim,Michael, Steven,Brian, Shane and Christopher as well as many cousins,extended family and friends.
Bo’s family will receive family and friends on Tuesday September 10th, at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm with a service at 6:45pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 11th at St. Peter’s Cemetery(Lake Ave. Ext) Danbury at 11am.
