Jeffrey Kent Carrine passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Jeffrey was born on April 1, 1949 in Danbury, CT to the late Evelyn Lorraine Hyatt Carrine and Gerald Edmund Carrine. Beloved husband of Stephen Burkhart.
Jeffrey worked in finance for Western CT Home Health Care, was a board member of the Danbury Parking Authority, and was a proud United State Veteran having served in the Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976.
Jeffrey was a prevalent founding member of the Aids Project of Danbury, now known as APEX Community Care. Jeffrey devoted much of his time to helping build a strong foundation for APEX, an organization that began as a support for people living with HIV/AIDS and has grown to include assistance for substance abuse and mental illness in the Greater Danbury Area. Through his diligent efforts, along with his fellow volunteers, APEX has grown to become an amazing resource that has helped the lives of thousands.
In his free time Jeffrey enjoyed maintaining his garden and spending time with his loved ones and friends.
In addition to his husband, Stephen Burkhart, Jeffrey is survived by his two sisters Jennifer Carrine and Jacalyn Carrine of Danbury, CT.
