Jean Wilson Obituary

Jean Barbara Wilson 12/21/1931 - 5/14/2026

Jean Barbara (Churchill) Wilson, 94, of Danbury CT, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on May 14th, 2026.

She was born in Danbury CT, on December 21st, 1931 to Mary Nolan and Steven Churchill and lived there most of her life. After her parents’ death she lived with siblings remembering fondly living above the Old Oak with her sister Helen. She walked to the theater for discount movies, loved to dance and from the moment she saw him, was smitten with one Joseph Wilson. She went to school in Danbury CT before marrying Joe and moving to a military base in Louisiana while Joe was in the service. Jean had 3 beautiful boys, and countless cherished family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph, sons Mark and Michael, her parents (Mary and Steven) and siblings (Marion, Helen, Charles (Chibby), Edward (Peanuts) and Frances).

She is survived by her son Robert (wife Lucille), granddaughter Regina (mom Jennifer), great nephew Peter (wife Maureen, children Devin, Jamauree and Jaylan), niece Carol (husband Peter, children Sandra (husband Alan), Robin, and Lisa) and many beloved family and friends.

Over the years Jean was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, grandmother and a babysitter to half of the family. There was never a quiet or dull moment in the Wilson household. She cherished her time working with kids in the Danbury School system and working customer service at Grolier's. Jean was a beautiful, intelligent and kind woman who always gave what she could to help anyone in need. She saw the best in people, no matter what.

Jean looked forward to visits from her friends and family, though none compared to her visits with Peter, Maureen and Jaylan. She could never resist a cold ginger ale, a sweet baby, a root beer float, or a good mystery.

Jean was never without a story about the babies she cared for, the picnics she threw or the love she had for others. She will be remembered for her compassion, her smile, her determination and her big heart.
