Iris M. Limardo, of Bethel, CT, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026 at the age of 79.
Iris was born on February 10, 1947, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to the late Carlos Limardo and Carmen Aguilar.
Iris earned her cosmetology license concurrent with her diploma from Mabel Dean High School in New York City. She worked at a Manhattan salon before putting her cosmetology license on hold to work in the offices of Bristol-Myers/Clairol. Iris returned to her passion for working on hair and moved to Puerto Rico in the late 1980’s to teach hair color techniques across the island on behalf of Clairol. In 1990, she relocated to Albany, New York, and enjoyed a successful career as a hair color specialist at both Jean Paul Salon and Ania’s Hair Studio. When she wasn’t working, Iris greatly enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, traveling, and most especially loved spending time with her family.
Iris is survived by her loving children Dali (Jesus) Santiago, Marcos (Analisa) Pantoja, her grandchildren Zachary and Nina Santiago, Sofia and Benjamin Pantoja, her siblings Aida Andrews, Eliana Garcia, Naomi Limardo, Kathy Otero, Luis Perez, Carlos Perez, Robert Perez, Jose Perez, and Carmen Santiago. She was predeceased by her siblings Carlos Limardo, Francisco Limardo, John Limardo, and Ana Mendoza.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday April 2, 2026, at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South Street, from 10am-11am. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY.
