Hans J. Fischer passed away peacefully on December 5, 2020 at his own home in Bethel CT while surrounded by his loving family. Hans was born on August 31, 1951 in Cottbus, Germany to Ursula Fischer and the late Willi Fischer.
Hans is survived by his wife Deborah Fischer of 47 years, son Doug Fischer and his wife Cheryl, daughters Heidi Fischer and Liza Fischer, her fiancé Andrew Wright, brother Edward Fischer and sister Susan Swanson. As well as his beloved grandchildren Kiera and Lucas Fischer, his niece, Sarah Swanson and nephew John Swanson. Hans was a devoted husband, father, and friend.
Hans proudly grew up in Brooklyn, NY where he graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and Long Island University. Throughout his career in accounting and finance, he worked hard and traveled the country for companies such as Ingersoll Rand, PHH Homequity and Highwatch Recovery Center.
Hans loved planning lunch and dinner outings with his friends who he spoke about constantly with the greatest admiration. He had a gift of showing excitement over the simplest things, which is hard to match. Hans was a great gardener and loved to share his crop. He also enjoyed making the best spaghetti and clam sauce, a great batch of pancakes, having a glass of Bombay Sapphire, watching the Food Network, old movies, The Sopranos and re-runs of MASH, fishing, traveling, telling stories and sitting on his back porch spending quality time with his loved ones.
Service or a gathering to be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation at http://www.glioblastomafoundation.org or by mail at PO Box 62066, Durham, NC 27715.
