Hanna B. Russo, of Brookfield, CT, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on January 21, 2026. She was 77 years old.
Born on April 1, 1948 in Mahopac, NY, daughter of the late Hanford L. Simmons Sr and Margaret Anna Brown. She was predeceased by her many siblings.
Hanna was a secretary with Pitney Bowes for over 20 years before retiring. When you visited her, you could see her love of Dale Earnhardt, Betty Boop and butterflies from all
the trinkets she collected. Hanna always had a feeder full of food for the birds and squirrels and loved sitting and admiring them through the window. Her candy bowl was always full of chocolates for any who visited, especially the grandkids.
Hanna is survived by her daughters; Lisa Karas and her husband Dennis, Tammy Quirk and her husband Thomas, her grandchildren; Shane Karas and his fiancee Alexandra, Andrea Rivera and her husband Frank, Mason Quirk and Maia Quirk, her great grandchildren; Egon and Lilu, her sister Winniford Wagner, her niece Cynthia McNerney and her husband Steven, her great-niece Tia McNerney and many other nieces and nephews. XOXO

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light
All pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth
You shall rest in Jesus’ land.
When the work is all completed,
He will gently call you home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
