Obituary
Geraldine McIntyre Defeo of Port Washington and Great Neck NY, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023 at Maplewood of Danbury. She was 91 years old.
Gerry was born on May 17, 1932 in Great Neck, NY, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Jennings) Reed. Gerry was a person of luck when it came to love. After her first marriage of over 28 years to Robert McIntyre ended, she found love again with John Defeo for over 25 years when he passed away in 2019.
Gerry’s greatest joy and passion in life was her family. She would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother who loved her family deeply.
Gerry is survived by her loving children; Doug McIntyre and his wife Penny Peyser and Kathleen Herndon and her husband Stephen Herndon, her grandchildren; Matthew, Maggie and Bridget Herndon, Henry, Jack and Eleanor McIntyre, her step grandchildren Buck Jordan and Devon Brady and her daughter in law Patricia Hollleran. She was predeceased by her son Jeff McIntyre in 2013 and her brother Jack Reed.
Gerry’s services will be announced. Danbury Memorial assisted the family with arrangements.
