Gerald R. Marsh, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 12, 2024. He was 79 years old.
Gary was born on November 6, 1944, in San Diego, CA, the son of the late Enos and Fleta (Combs) Marsh. He graduated from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and the Lliff School of Theology for Seminary, where he met his wife, Jean L. Holt. They later moved to New England to raise their family.
Gary was ordained as a United Church of Christ minister and volunteered countless hours counseling youth at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop, ME. He often volunteered as a cabin counselor and art instructor, chaperoned youth rallies and served on the maintenance staff for the camp. Gary also enjoyed camping, bird watching, model railroading, and playing the guitar.
Gary is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Ethan Marsh and Bethany Sullivan and her husband, Brian; his grandchildren, Ilana and Owen; and his brother Sam Marsh. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 2pm on April 13, 2024, at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop, Maine.
