Georgette Y. Tomaino Obituary
Georgette Tomaino (nee Lacroix), born on November 20, 1930 in Danbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving children at her home in Bethel, Connecticut.
A lifelong resident of the Danbury area, Georgette graduated from Danbury High School in 1949, where she was First Chair Violinist with the school orchestra. She then went on to work at the Mallory Hat Factory, where she met her future husband, Anthony Tomaino. Later, Georgette worked at the Barden Corporation for over 25 years, retiring in 1993.
Family was the center of Georgette's life. She unselfishly gave her time and love to each of her children and grandchildren through the years, faithfully attending school functions or concerts and marching band competitions. She could also often be found at her sewing machine -- an accomplished seamstress like her mother before her -- sewing outfits from patterns or mending something for her family.
Georgette also found joy tending to her flowers and decorating her home, particularly during the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite time of the year. She cherished the opportunity to spoil her children and grandchildren with love and gifts. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo, solving crossword puzzles, and especially the thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets, always hoping for a big winner.
She is survived by her children, Laureen (Ron) Kellner, Gary (Michelle) Tomaino, Karen Chiaramonte, and Diane Guadagno. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Chiara Chiaramonte, Marisa Tomaino, and Ryan (Crissy) Kellner, as well as her great-grandchildren, Liliana Kellner and soon-to-be-born Theodore Kellner. Georgette is also survived by her sister, Rachel Radachowsky, and sisters-in-law, Roseanne (Peter) Dardis and Charlene (Doug) Braden, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Anthony Tomaino, a mason by trade who lovingly built the family home in 1962; brother, Robert Lacroix; sister, Jeannine Russell; son-in-law, Thomas Guadagno; and former son-in-law James Chiaramonte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary Church (26 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel) with interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery (71 Lake Avenue Ext, Danbury). A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury) from 1pm-3pm.
