Frank Anthony Sbertoli (SBERT), 79, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at Danbury Regional Hospice, surrounded by love.
Born on July 9, 1945, in Kankakee, Illinois, Frank was the son of the late Frank Anthony Sbertoli Sr. and Phyllis Sbertoli (Adams). He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Central High School, Class of 1963. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1967, where he became a lifelong member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
Frank built a long and meaningful career at IBM, serving as a Marketing Support Branch Manager. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he cultivated there.
Outside of his professional life, Frank embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. He loved hiking, traveling, solving The New York Times crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Furthermore, he was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Boston Celtics, and Wisconsin Badgers. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially “The Boys” AKA The Rolling Stones.
Frank’s heart was fullest when he was surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved daughters Marissa Fildew (Dave) and Andee Valeri (Peter), and his loving grandchildren Skylar Fildew, Justin Fildew, Leona Valeri, and Mia Valeri. He is also survived by his devoted partner, June Benham, who brought him happiness and companionship in their years together.
Frank will be memorialized in the Scattering Garden at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury, CT. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) is assisting the family with arrangements.
Frank will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. He will be missed dearly.
