Frank Joseph Giresi of Westport, CT died peacefully on November 28th at the age of 79 in Danbury, CT from complications due to Frontotemporal dementia. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years Mindy Ellen Wolkstein; his sons Brad Christopher Giresi and wife Megan Darakjy; Matthew Charles Giresi and wife Jennifer; his grandson James August Giresi; his half-sister Maria Anne Giresi; and his brother-in- law Andrew Irving Wolkstein and wife Linda Zetter. Frank was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Soledad Fernandez Giresi; his parents-in-law Melvin and Sylvia Belkin Wolkstein; his half-brother Joseph Patrick Giresi; and sister-in-law Barbara Ratliff Wolkstein
Frank grew up in Queens, New York. He graduated from Aviation High School and New York Institute of Technology. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Frank worked for 27 years for Trans World Airlines (TWA) in operations and supply chain. He spoke highly of his days at Hanger 12 at JFK Airport. Frank met Mindy when they both worked in the Duty Free/Travel Retail industry. She always called him her knight in shining armor. Before retiring, he was a well-respected home inspector for ProChek Home Inspection Services. Mindy and Frank were quite the duo - the real estate agent and her home inspector husband. Frank loved photography, travel, aviation; military history, puttering around the house - he was a jack of all trades with his MacGyver gadgets, and of course being with family and friends. We are going to miss his gentle nature and quick dry wit.
