Florence A. LaRussell

Florence Angelina DiRoberto LaRussell passed away peacefully on Friday June 5, 2026. She was 86 years old.

Born on March 16, 1940 in Mamaroneck, NY, daughter of Gerard DiRoberto and Jenny Squillace DiRoberto. Florence married Leonard LaRussell on November 13, 1958 at just 18 years old. In 1965, they moved to Danbury, CT and together raised their children there. After moving to Danbury, she stayed a resident of the city for the remainder of her life.

Florence was a caregiver to all. Her passion for assisting others shined throughout her career as a nurse’s aide at many local nursing homes and hospitals. She always put others first, especially her family. Florence had a love of being outdoors. She spent her time taking care of her gardens, and going on walks. She also loved dogs and had many beloved pets that she cared for throughout her life.

Florence was survived by her children; Valerie (Greg Martino) LaRussell, Wendy (John) Barnum and Lenny (Michelle) LaRussell, as well as her grandchildren; Julia Barnum, Zachary LaRussell and Brandon LaRussell. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her siblings and her daughter, Sharon Lynn LaRussell.

A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a later date. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements.
