Eleanor Torielli, a lifelong resident of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024 at Danbury Hospital. She was 96 years old.
Born on April 20, 1927 in Danbury, CT, daughter to the late Joseph L. and Catherine (Paonessa) Scozzafava Sr. Eleanor was a graduate of Danbury High School. Eleanor was married to her beloved husband Walter Torielli before his passing in 2018.
Eleanor was a co-owner with her brothers for many years of the Henry Street Market. Eleanor enjoyed traveling with her family to Florida and to Atlantic City with her husband, Walter. She also was a proud homemaker, she not only assisted with the family business but was also a caregiver for not only her parents but also her husband Walter.
Eleanor is lovingly survived by her nephews; Henry (Joy) Scozzafava Sr, John (Carol) Scozzafava, Joseph Scozzafava, her niece Katherine (Roger) Keller, her sister-in-law Edith Scozzafava, many cousins and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased not only by her parents but also by her brothers and their spouses Saverio (Joan), John (Paula and Carmella) and Joseph, her niece-in-law Donna and her great nephew Henry Jr.
A private burial is being held for Eleanor. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
