Eleanor H. Pianforini

Eleanor H. Pianforini, age 96, passed peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side on March 3, 2020.

Eleanor is predeceased by husband of 44 years Louis J. Pianforini; siblings Frederick Harvey, Irene (Brown) and Norbert Holderle.  Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Eleanor (Paul) Frutiger, of Midway TN; Susan Pianforini of Brookfield, CT; Eileen (James) Kerkes of Delanson NY; two grandchildren Dylan and Payton Kerkes; sister-in-law Shirlee Holderle and cousin Marian Ginegaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Eleanor was born on September 25th , 1923 in Rochester, NY, to parents Frederick W. Holderle and Rosa J. Stilke.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from Hiram College and an Occupational Therapist Diploma from the Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy.  She was an OT at Four Winds Hospital and thereafter worked as the librarian at Kent Elementary School in Carmel, NY.

Eleanor formerly resided in Carmel, NY where she was active on the Putnam County Children’s Committee and crocheted numerous blankets for the Warm Up America Campaign.  She enjoyed boating, swimming, reading, entertaining and playing her organ.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, at 4 PM at Drew United Methodist Church, 28 Gleneida Ave, Carmel NY 10512.  Reception to follow at Candlewood Shores Club House, 55 Longview Drive, Brookfield, CT 06804.  All are welcome to attend the celebration of Eleanor’s life.
