Edwin Evans Clawson, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on July 8, 2026. He was 96 years old.
Born on October 8, 1929 in Lucerne Mines, PA, son of the late Frederick F. and Jane (Cairns) Clawson. Edwin was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical High School. Edwin honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged on January 8, 1952. Edwin was married to the love of his life Jean D Clawson. She predeceased him on March 18, 2001.
Edwin was correctional educator with the CT Corrections Department. He enjoyed gardening and being a member of the Korean War Vets.
Edwin is survived by his loving children; Patricia A. Waters and Chip Clawson; his grandchildren; Abby Bruzzi, Sara Olofson and Benjamin Clawson and his 5 great grandchildren . He was predeceased by his siblings, parents, spouse and grandson Matthew Clawson.
A private cremation will be held. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements. Please visit www.danburymemorial.com to send the family condolences.
