Edward (Eddie) George Bishop Jr., 62, passed away on March 12, 2020 at Danbury Hospital with his family by his side. Eddie, husband of Laurie (Castruccio) Bishop, was born on January 20, 1958 in Danbury, CT to the late Louise (Saviano) and Edward Bishop Sr.
Eddie was a loving, caring individual who had a deep love for his family and friends. He was proud of his Native American heritage and his roots in the Schaghticoke tribe. He had a passion for softball and could be found on both sides of the plate, as pitcher and umpire. When he wasn’t on the softball field, you could find him watching sports, rooting for his favorite teams; the Boston Red Soxs and Dallas Cowboys. Eddie had an adventurous spirit and loved spending time with his family, visiting the casino, and was an avid Pink Floyd enthusiast.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Laurie Bishop, their three beloved children Nicole Lozada (Manny), Renee Espinal (Ralph) and Matthew Bishop, his two brothers Robert and Timothy Bishop, his grandchildren Arianna Espinal, Jaden Espinal, Izabella Lozada and Daniel Lozada. Eddie is also survived by his father-in-law Benjamin Castruccio, his two sisters-in-law Deborah Truchsess and Suzanne Bissonette, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his mother-in-law Ardith Castruccio, nephew Ryan Bishop, and brother-in-law David Castruccio. Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass will be held on November 28th, 2020 at St. Peter's Church (104 Main St, Danbury CT 06810) at 10:30 a.m.
