Dorothy “Dottie” Kelly passed away peacefully on January 25, 2020 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT surrounded by her loving family. Dottie was born on October 8, 1931 in Yonkers, NY to the late Josephine and Chris Hagenah.
Dottie was known for her meatballs and making a wonderful potato salad, never sharing her secret ingredients. She loved watching old war and western movies and, most of all, spending time with her family, including caring for her grandchildren.
Dottie’s memory will be cherished by her three loving children Kathleen Callahan, Patrick Kelly (Christine), Terry Johnson (Michael) and her five grandchildren Debbie Spagnolo, Brian Callahan, Kevin Callahan, Katie Johnson and Shawn Johnson. Dottie is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Erin and Jaime Spagnolo, as well as many nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Olsen and her brother John Hagenah.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT 06810) on Saturday February 1, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a service at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
