Dorothy Keller Obituary

Dorothy F. Keller of Danbury passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024. She was the widow of Robert L Keller Sr.

Born and raised in Greenwich, Dorothy and her husband moved to Danbury in 1964 to raise their family. As a young girl, she started her working career at Greenwich Town Hall. When she moved to Danbury she worked for Benrus Corp in Wilton for a short time before starting her long career with Perkin Elmer Corp. She worked through the company's many acquisitions ( Hughes, Raytheon) and finally retired after 36 yrs with the Goodrich Corporation.

She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandson, Justin. She later enjoyed spending time with her other grandchildren Jordan and Lucas during their younger years.

Dorothy leaves behind three children. Her daughter Cheryl Vidal, who took care of her during her final years. A son Robert L Keller Jr (Diane Disher) of Little River, SC. and another daughter Sue Gomes (Al) of Sandy Hook. Three grandchildren, Justin Vidal, and granddaughter-in-law Mikaela, of Bethel. Jordan Gomes and Lucas Gomes of Sandy Hook. And her cherished great-grandson Declan Vidal. Her nieces, Beverly Lowden, Dawn Guerriero, Lisa Larsen, Kimberley Lowden, one nephew, Arthur (Chip) Lowden and her honorary niece Lee Ellen Chontos, who shared her cape home with Dorothy and her family. The Cape was her favorite place to vacation. Several great nieces and great nephews, and four great, great nieces & nephews. As well as her good friend and walking partner Fran Chessic. And her grand furbaby Lacy.

Dorothy was affectionally known as “Granny” to all of Justin’s friends, as well as many of her neighbors. That was her most favorite title. She was never happier as when Justin & Mikaela put their son Declan in her arms for the first time. She loved seeing all the pictures of Declan on a daily basis.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parent’s Obediah “Obie” Lowden, Anna Livingston Lowden, her two brothers, Arthur H Lowden, Herbert Lowden, all of Greenwich, and her son in law Robert K “Bobby” Vidal.
