Dezera Destiny Priar

Dezera Destiny Priar, 26, passed away on March 19, 2021 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Dezera was born on March 2, 1995 in Danbury, CT to Darrell King and the late Gloria Priar-Rawlings. 

After attending Danbury High School, Dezera became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She went on to work in private nursing and was deeply committed to caring for her patients as if they were her own family.

Dezera will always be remembered for her gentleness, grace, and kindness. She was a vibrant and beautiful soul whose smile would light up every room she walked into, and whose laughter was infectious to everyone around her. She had a deep love for her family and friends, but her most rewarding and cherished role was as the devoted and loving mother of her baby girl Nova. 

In addition to her father Darrell King, Dezera is survived by her daughter Nova G’Ann Priar. Four siblings: Ronnie (Tiffany) Rawlings Jr., Ebonie Priar, Darrell Priar, and King Wallace Mclean; grandparents Claudia Nash, Felix Green, and Mildred and Tom Tomkins. Special aunts and uncles Doris Priar-Cardwell, Claudette Priar, Meosha (Irving, Sr.) Smith, Hubert “June” (Janice) Nash and Marvin (Darlene) King; cousins, Shieda Cardwell and Jahasia and Naz Staton; nieces and nephews, Artazia, Javon, Artez, Sharee, Jada, Kayden, and Ayla; God parents, Evelyn and Perry Booker, Deja Webber, and Maurice Matthews; God sister Dominique Booker; as well as a host of extended family and many friends.   

Although her time here on Earth was brief and a trail of broken hearts is left behind, there is peace and comfort knowing Dezera has joined her mother, Gloria, in God’s paradise.

A Public Visitation will be held on Saturday March 27, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church (69 Rowan St, Danbury, CT 06810) from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A Private Family Visitation and Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:30-12:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury, CT.
