Denise Lariviere Obituary

Denise Lariviere passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 16, 2026. She was 82 years old. Denise was born on December 17, 1943 in St. Zacharie, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Rosaire Lamontagne and Jeanne (Jacques) Lamontagne.

Denise married Rejean “Reggie” in 1964, he was the love of her life. In 1970, Denise along with their 2 children, Marco and Nathalie, joined Reggie who had already emigrated to the United States earlier that same year. Together they made their home in Connecticut and were blessed with another child, Michele, completing the family. Denise and Reggie built a life filled with deep love, faith, and abundant laughter.

Denise was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. She had remarkable creative talents and loved sewing for her family, making everything from dresses and pants to sports coats, nightgowns, snowmobile pants, car seat covers, prom dresses, and table runners. She even reupholstered couches and chairs—there seemed to be nothing she could not do. She also loved cooking and baking and was known as a “whiz” in the kitchen. Hosting family and friends for meals brought her great joy.

Her cream puffs were legendary at the church’s fundraising event for the teens, where they were highly sought after and raised significant funds.

Denise loved her children with all her heart, faithfully guiding and instructing them throughout their lives. In 1981 she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour along with her family. Denise attended church regularly, read her Bible faithfully and openly shared her gratitude for her Salvation. She help spread the Gospel and was known as a devoted Prayer Warrior.

Becoming a grandmother was one of Denise’s greatest joys. She cherished all seven of her grandchildren and traveled to Indiana to be present for the births of four of them, where her son Marco and Kim - the “best daughter‑in‑law in the world” reside. Denise and Reggie delighted in babysitting their grandchildren and spending time with them whenever possible.

She also rejoiced in becoming a great‑grandmother three times. Denise loved and adored each great‑grandchild and treasured their FaceTime calls, which brought her immense happiness.

Denise is lovingly survived by her children; Marco “Sonny” Lariviere (Kim), Nathalie Lariviere, and Michele Maloney Kaback (Richard); her grandchildren; Aaron Lariviere, Emily Lariviere, Jacob Lariviere (Jada), Nathan Lariviere, Nicholas Maloney (Megan), Cameron Maloney and Mackenzie Maloney; her great grandchildren; Landon, Arlo and Clarke; and her siblings; Marc Lamontagne (Martine), Denis Lamontagne (Linda), Gilles Lamontagne (Lucienne), Noelline Morin (Mario), Francine Poulin (Lorenzo), Mario Lamontagne (Lucie) and Diane Breton (Denis).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Reggie, her son Sylvio, her son‑in‑law Kenneth Maloney, her brother Gervais, and her sister‑in‑law Pierrette and her niece Karine Poulin.
