David Brian Reiske, Sr.

David Brian Reiske Sr. moved on to his next adventure on February 13th, 2026. He was born on August 13th, 1957 to William Reiske and Helen Dingee.

Known by his grandkids as “Big Papa”, David was a man with skilled hands and a big heart. He was good at all things machinery- cars, gadgets, computers: if they were broken, he could fix them. He was also a helpful type of man, doing his best to lend a hand whenever he could.

You knew Big Papa was around when the scent of fresh Dunkin’ coffee filled the air and the sound of all the best hits from the 60s hummed through the room.

When David wasn’t working on a car, he was watching the latest Nascar race with vested interest. One of his biggest interests was motorcycles. A longtime Harley Davidson fan, David would love to talk about his and others bikes; often filling the room with energy when he spoke.

David was a loving man; he cared about his family deeply and made sure they knew it. He was never afraid to say “I love you” or to express just how his children made him proud. David’s family will always remember their Big Papa for his kindness and loving spirit.

David is survived by his children: David B. Reiske Jr. and Gregory Reiske; his grandchildren: Matthew Millard, Phoenix Reiske, Maverick Reiske, Victoria Reiske, and Karissa Reiske; his younger brother Floyd Reiske and all those who came to call him their friend, especially his “Forever Friend” Donna Reiske. He was predeceased by his siblings; Albert and Charles Reiske and Emma Hess.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT. 06810) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
