Craig Stephen Wilkie passed away on April 21, 2022 at his home in Danbury, CT. Craig was born on May 22, 1956 in Springfield, MA, son of the late Robert and Ruth (Houghton) Wilkie Craig honorably served in the Unites States Army for 27 years serving during the Vietnam and Gulf Wars.
Craig was a proud member of the Ojibwe Native American tribe and stayed connected to his roots by learning the ways of his ancestors. He found peace in making traditional arts such as dream catchers, medicine pouches, and traditional instruments out of wood or antlers. On sunny days he relished in taking his Harley Davison out for long rides in the Connecticut countryside. However, above all he loved his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Craig is survived by his two children: daughter Alexandra Nichols (Marlon) and son Anthony Wilkie. Seven grandchildren: Jazmyn Wilkie, Terrance Moore, Zion Letang, Paris Nichols, Leah Wilkie, Jayce Wilkie, and Mason Wilkie. Three great grandchildren: Aiden Lampley, Adrian Lampley, and Avery Lampley. As well as his siblings, the mother of his children Maria Depina, his lifelong best friend Kenny Veness, and many nieces and nephews. Craig is predeceased by his brother Robert Wilkie, grandson Anthony Wilkie Jr., and his beloved dog Bitty who was always by his side.
