Collette Wynn Obituary

Our Beloved Collette, a shining light in our lives, left the world on Easter Sunday, 2024.  She passed away in Washington Depot, surrounded by her angel caregivers and family.

Collette had an indomitable spirit and a passion for living life to its fullest. She had a smile for everyone and a special way of making people feel welcomed and loved. Her festive parties and gourmet meals were legion.

A graduate of Kent Place school and Wellesley College, Collette’s deep intellectual curiosity led to graduate degrees in French and Italian and a third master’s in Special Education, which she earned at age 70.

A lifelong Francophile and avid gardener, Collette replicated Monet’s garden at her home in Bernardsviile, New Jersey, where she and her beloved husband of 63 years, Charles (https://www.danburymemorial.com/obituary/Charles-Wynn), raised their three children: Carin, Jennie, and Brooks.

Collette’s deeply empathic spirit, her love of animals, nature, and her sense of adventure were gifts to her family and friends. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but we take solace in knowing that she is now at peace.

We will carry Collette’s memory with us always and strive to live in a way that would make her proud. In addition to her children, Collette is survived by her grandchildren, Nicole and Danielle, her son- and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kim, and her sister and her husband, Janet and John Conrad.

A joint memorial service for Collette and Charles Wynn will be held at the First Congregational Church of Washington at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 8, followed by a gathering of friends and family in Parish Hall to celebrate their lives.
