Carol Ann Dugan

Carol Ann Dugan, of New Fairfield, CT, died peacefully in the comfort of her own home on September 12, 2023. She was 82 years old.

Born on March 14, 1941 in Stamford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Evelyn (Tourigny) Beland. Carol graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1959. 

She married her first husband Richard Banning on (Sept. 8, 1962). Richard predeceased his wife Carol in 1982. In 1983, Carol met Robert Dugan, her second husband, they married and had many years together before his passing on September 17, 2018. 

Carol enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and pets; fun times in Florida, Massachusetts, and Connecticut throughout the years, playing cards and games; camping; traveling and being “the driver”; golf, line dancing and parasailing; prison ministry for 30 years; going on adventures and celebrating with grandchildren, great grands and great great grands.

Carol is survived by her loving family; her children; Glenn Banning, Heather Banning Carswell and Scott Banning, her stepson Robert Dugan Jr, and predeceased stepdaughter Diane Dugan; her grandchildren: Jessica, Richard, Rachel and Katelynn Banning; Cole, Cody, Brianna and Madi Grace Carswell; Olivia Carol and her beloved twin sister Beverly and her husband Bob. She is also survived by many grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 23, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Edward the Confessor Church (Brush Hill Rd, New Fairfield). Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery (Rt 37, New Fairfield). A celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday September 22, 2023 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury) from 5pm-8pm.
