Carlo Joseph Amodio, 70, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. Born in the Bronx, NY, in 1954, he was the son of the late Vincent and Margaret (McMahon) Amodio. Carlo spent his early years in the Bronx and much of his young adult life in Brooklyn, before settling in Queens. After a long career in the taxi and livery business, he retired in 2019.
Carlo had a great love for animals and the outdoors. He enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was known for his homemade hot sauce. If Carlo wasn't in his garden, he was fishing. An avid angler, he loved being on the water and sharing this hobby with his children, son-in-law, and grandsons. A lifelong Yankees fan, he enjoyed watching games with a beer in hand. Affectionately known as "Grandpa," Carlo was the heart of every gathering. He embraced extended family as his own, and he treasured his family above all else. He loved sharing stories from his youth, his favorite recipes, and appreciated a fine whiskey. Carlo was a passionate man who, despite not having much, always believed in helping others.
Carlo is survived by his five children: Daniella (Luis) Colon, Carlo Amodio Jr., Niccole (Ariel) Cruz, Anthony Sanchez, and Andrea Amodio; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Jose, Aydan, Richard, and Andrew, along with honorary grandsons, Daniel, Timothy, and Jayden; and his sisters Katherine Lozano, Cherlyn Lopez, Carol Burgos, and Margaret Marino. He was predeceased by his brother, Curtis Amodio. To light a candle or to send a condolence in his memory please go to the tribute tab.
