Bounma Phanthavong passed away on May 19th, 2024. He was born to Mi and Kham Phanthavong in Sainyabuli, Laos on March 14th, 1946.
Bounma passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and was known for his selflessness and generosity, becoming a father figure to some of his children's friends. He laughed loudly and had a great sense of humor.
He enjoyed the company of others, working on DIY projects, and raising and watching birds, which brought him peace. He was an amazing husband, a loving father, and a cherished friend. His presence will forever be remembered by the many people he connected with.
Bounma is survived by his loving wife Kongvene Bounphang along with their children: Vahn Phanthavong, Bounsavanh Phanthavong, and Phonesavanh Kom. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Tylao Phanthavong, Savannah Kom, Lexi Phanthavong, Kylie Phanthavong, and Halle Phanthavong. In addition to his son-in-law; Sam Kom and daughter-in-law; Soudsida Phanthavong. He is predeceased by his parents, as well as his son: Vongsavanh Phanthavong.
A service will be held in Bounma’s honor on Thursday May 23 from 8:30 to 10:30am at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT.) with a cremation to follow at Stone Family Crematory (125 Bullet Hill Rd. N. Southbury, CT.).
