Benjamin (Benny) Castruccio Jr.

Benjamin (Benny) Castruccio Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2021 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Benjamin was born on April 25, 1932 in Danbury, CT to the late Benvenuto Castruccio and Mary Marcella Castruccio. Beloved husband of the late Ardith Beers Castruccio.

Benny was a proud United States Army veteran, having served as a Military Police Officer during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he was self employed as an alumium siding contractor, Castruccio Aluminum Siding.

Benny played semi pro football in his younger years, was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, bocci, and sharing stories of his life.

Benny is survived by his three daughters, Deborah Truchsess, Laurie Bishop, and Suzanne Bissonette; his sister, Sara Krompinger; six grandchildren, Nicole Lozada, Renee (Ralph) Espinal, Matthew Bishop, Christian (Kelly) Truchsess, Danielle (Patrick Mink) Bissonette, and Alex Bissonette; six great grandchildren, Arianna and Jaden Espinal, Izabella and Daniel Lozada, Jackson and Aubrey Truchsess; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Benny is predeceased by his son, David Castruccio; his son in law, Edward Bishop; brothers and their wives, Patrick and Leona Castruccio, Rocco and Ethel Castruccio, Philip and Alice Castruccio, sisters and their husbands, Frances and Deke Dwyer, Florence and Victor Reilley, and brother in law, Warren Krompinger.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel, CT. There will be no calling hours.
