November 28, 1931 – January 17, 2026
Beatrice Kathryn Ransom, 94, born on November 28, 1931, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.
Born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, Beatrice was the youngest of four children and was predeceased by her sister, Regina O’Brien, and her brothers, William and Jack Schofield.
She is survived by her six devoted children: Keith Fiaschetti (Debbie), Diane Tyrrell (Gary), Janice Fiaschetti, Patricia Kelly, David Fiaschetti, and Paul Fiaschetti (Luz).
Her eight beloved grandchildren are Melanie “Loni” Morales (Diane and Gary Tyrrell); Ryan and Rachel Fiaschetti (Paul Fiaschetti); Cheryl Ledford, Cynthia Reeves, and Kyle Fiaschetti (Keith Fiaschetti); and Megan Abbott and Matthew Kelly (Patricia Kelly), as well as her step-grandchild, Maria Daniella (Paul and Luz Fiaschetti).
She was the proud great-grandmother of nine cherished great-grandchildren: Savanna and Nathen Morales (Melanie and Tony Morales); Brooke Ledford (Cheryl and Jeremy Ledford); Connor and Jace Reeves (Cynthia and Ryan Reeves); Colton and Kaia Abbott (Megan and Taylor Abbott); and Liam and Noah Fiaschetti (Kyle and Kristina Fiaschetti). She was also blessed with two step great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Ledford (Cheryl and Jeremy Ledford) and Raelynn Reeves (Cynthia and Ryan Reeves).
Beatrice, lovingly known as Bea, Mom, Aunt Bea, and Nana, was a woman of extraordinary kindness, patience, and selflessness. Her six children and their families were always her greatest priority, and her life was defined by quiet sacrifice and unwavering devotion to others. She consistently placed the needs, comfort, and well-being of her family above her own and was loved and cherished by all. Everyone who met her was immediately drawn to her gentle spirit and sweet nature.
In the 1960s, Bea was quite the entrepreneur, founding and running a babysitting service and day care from her home on Mallory Hill Road in Ridgefield. Her home became a place of care, trust, and warmth for many families. Later, she worked as a Human Resources Specialist at Home Equity in Wilton, Connecticut, where she remained until her retirement in 1991.
A severe automobile accident in 1972, when she was in her early forties, left Beatrice physically challenged, yet it never diminished her spirit. Instead, it revealed her remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. A devastating stroke in 2020 further limited her physical abilities, but Bea never complained of pain and never felt sorry for herself. Even in her final years, when she was completely bedridden and dependent on her loved ones, she expressed how truly blessed she felt.
She was lovingly cared for by her devoted live-in aide, Agnes, who became part of the family through her unwavering compassion, love, and care. Agnes and Bea shared many joyful moments, and the two formed a deeply special bond.
Throughout her life, Bea faced hardship with grace and courage, becoming a powerful role model for perseverance, faith, and inner strength.
Beatrice was the heart of her family — a steady presence, a source of unconditional love, and a guiding light through every season of life. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the lives she touched, and the generations she helped shape. Her presence will continue to be felt through tender memories and the quiet signs that remind us she is still near
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
There will be no services at this time. A private celebration of life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Bea’s name, as it was her favorite charity.
