Barbara Louise White, 85 of Pelham, NY and Mount Vernon, NY passed away peacefully in Ridgefield, CT on October 18, 2023.

Barbara was born in Manhattan, NY on May 3,1938 to Charles and Louise Sneed, the eldest of 3 children. She attended elementary school in Manhattan until her family moved to Pelham, NY. She attended Pelham High School excelling at her studies and even skipped ahead in her grade because of her love of reading and learning new things. After graduating High School, she married John Anderson and started the family she always wanted and received the first 6 of her eight blessings, her children Stacie, Sheryl, Joy, John, Charles and DoryGrace. As a family, they lived in the Bronx, NY, Tuckahoe, NY and eventually Mount Vernon, NY.

After her first marriage ended, she was reconnected with and married her first love, William White of New Rochelle, NY whom she originally met at the age of 14. This marriage resulted in two additional blessings, William Jr. and Robin.

Barbara worked for many years as a telephone operator at the New York Telephone Company in Yonkers, NY until her retirement.

Barbara was a little lady with a lot of personality, style, dignity, and elegance. She had a constant sparkle in her eyes, a love of music, language, theater, singing and dancing. Even in her old age, she remembered the words to all her favorite songs. What characterized her most though, was her deep love for her family and her God, Jehovah.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Sneed, her husband William White, her brother Raymond Sneed, and her beloved daughter Sheryl Anderson. She leaves to mourn her sister, Shirley Walker (George), her children Stacie Torres (Carlos), Joy Cieslarski (Mark), John Anderson (Monica), Charles Anderson, DoryGrace Dixon (Andre), William White Jr. and Robin Shinn (John). She also leaves to mourn her nephew Jason Giambrone and niece, Tasha Sneed, her grandchildren, Christopher John, Karim, Sanji, Denise, Charles Nicholas, Brittany, Mark, Lori, Sydney, Kraig, Kassandra, Anthony, Margeaux, and Barbara Jean, her many great grandchildren as well as a host of family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on October 28, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1240 Route 22, Brewster, NY 10509.
