Dasharathbhai, also known as Babubhai, H. Soni, 84 years young, of Bethel, Connecticut, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on January 11, 1940 in Petlad, India, he was the son of Pu.Himmatlal G. Soni and Pu.Kamalaben H. Soni. He was the third eldest of eight siblings, having five brothers and two sisters. Dasharathbhai lived a remarkable life filled with accomplishment, devotion, and unyielding generosity.
As a gifted mechanical engineer, Dasharathbhai’s legacy lives on in his contributions to scientific exploration, including his groundbreaking work on the Hubble Telescope. His career was one of innovation and brilliance, but Dasharathbhai’s true legacy was the family he cherished and the wisdom he imparted with a kind heart.
Dasharathbhai and his beloved wife, Naresha B. Soni, were inseparable for 58 years, a testament to their enduring love and unwavering support for one another. Together, they built a life of faith, resilience, and joy, inspiring their children and grandchildren with the strength of family bond. Beyond our immediate family, he served as the pillar that tied our family together.
Dasharathbhai was the proud father of Bhumika A. Dave (Ashesh S. Dave), Falguni B. Soni-Hauser (Rudolf C. Hauser Jr.), Sital B. Soni-Dubois (Raymond H. Dubois), and Seema B. Soni-Flores (Salvador Flores). His love and guidance extended to his nine cherished grandchildren: Sahaj, Ruedi, Ravi, Rashmi, Luc, Ishaan, Aasha, Raj, and Enrico. Each carries a piece of his strength, humor, and gentle spirit.
Dasharathbhai’s heart remained forever tender in remembrance of his late daughter, Falguni B. Soni-Hauser. We find peace in knowing they are reunited, held safely in the arms of Bhagwan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday November 8, 2024 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street, Danbury) from 9:30am-12:30pm. A cremation ceremony will follow at Stone Family Crematory (125 Bullet Hill Rd N., Southbury). In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Dasharathbhai’s memory may consider a donation to Dana Farber Cancer Center Institute.
Dasharathbhai’s life reminds us that true success is measured not only in accomplishments but in the love we share, the kindness we show, and the lives we touch. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
