Angelina Jennings Obituary

Angelina M. Jennings, a kind, beautiful woman left this earth to be with the love of her life for 69 years, her husband John C. Jennings, on July 17, 2022.  She was 98 years old.

Born on July 5, 1924 in Fairfield, CT, daughter of the late Pietro W. and Anna Rose (Sileo) Barry.

Angie was a one-of-a-kind, strong independent woman. Born in an era when women were subservient to men, she was subservient to No-One. She lived through the depression era and worked in a welding facility during WWII to help support our troops. Refusing to follow the majority, she taught her family through example the equality of all races, colors, genders, sexual orientations and religions.

She loved to spend time with her family and friends, fish, do word puzzles and was an avid reader with a brilliant mind. Without the benefit of a high school diploma, Angie could do math in her head incredibly fast and worked her way up to manager cook in the public school system. Angie also advised her daughter to consider a career in computers pre PC's and IT days.

Angie was the last of her generation from her and John’s sides of the family.  A true fighter, she survived a work accident which gave her third degree steam burns, cancer in her early 80's, pneumonia at 98 years old and the entire COVID-19 pandemic. Sadly in the end, it was that brilliant mind and not her body that betrayed her.

Loved by numerous; family, friends, church family and neighbors, Angie went by many titles which she was very proud of: daughter, sister, wife, daughter-in-law, mom, aunt, mother-in-law, friend, neighbor...  But the title that gave her the biggest joy of her life came in her late 70's when her two grandchildren were born. She moved back north to be a part of their lives and said they kept her young. Which must be true, considering she lived to be 98.

Angie is survived by her loving children: Leon D. Jennings and his wife Linda, Jeanne J. Radcliff and her husband Rick and her beloved grandchildren RJ and Randy Radcliff. Her nieces and nephews: Lynn, Joseph, Barbara, Debbie, Frank Jr., Leslie, Charles, Sarah, Christopher, Norman, Helen & Linda, as well as many great & great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Catherine D'Andrea (George), Elnora Evan (Geza), James Barry Sr. (Fernande) & Frank Barry, Sr., sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Julia, Norma, Clarence (Elizabeth) & Philip, niece: Linda and nephews: Alan, James Jr. & Phillip Jr.
