We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our beloved Angel. He transitioned peacefully on Saturday surrounded by his loving family and staff by his side at Danbury Hospital.
Angel has blessed us with his presence at Mountainville for the past 31 years. Angel moved to the United States from Puerto Rico with his family when he was just a young boy. Angel then resided at New Britain Children's Hospital until he turned 21 years old where he then moved into Ability Beyond's Dodgingtown ICF group home on March 1,1994.
Over the years Angel has enjoyed attending the Day Program and participating in Special Olympics. His favorite show was Gray's Anatomy; he loved his cow room and had an extensive cow collection! Angel was an extraordinary individual who lived life with purpose and passion in the simplest ways. He had a deep love for cows, playing his guitar and cherishing time with the family and friends who brought him joy.
Angel was a shining light, dearly loved and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him and he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Information on memorial services will soon follow. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
