Alice A. Mills, 90, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2022 at her home in Danbury, CT while surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on November 14, 1931 in Stamford, CT to the late Ernest Avery and Reva Baker Avery.
Alice worked as a School Bus Monitor for the Danbury Public School system for many years. She would always have a smile to share and took special time with each child she transported. She married her late husband Edmund Earl Mills Sept 9,1953. They shared 39 years raising 4 beautiful children together.
Alice loved keeping her hands busy creating beautiful crochet projects, she also loved playing cards in her spare time. She loved baking and cooking for her family. She occasionally enjoyed going out dancing and listening to country music. Most of all she loved her family deeply. She was grateful for every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and late partner Joseph”Jay” Tomasack of 30 years. In Jay she found a second love of her life.
Alice is survived by her four children: daughter Lisa Mills, son Edmund “Rick” Mills and partner Charlene, son Robert Mills all of Danbury, son Joseph Mills and wife Doreen of Republic Missouri. Sixteen grandchildren: Roxanne, Richard, Michael, Rachel, Angel, Andrew, Dishanda, Antwon, Earlisha, Quandrel, Martez, Delmeesha, Octavia, Joseph, Samuel, and Ashley. As well as many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Alice is predeceased by her husband Edmund Earl Mills, her late partner Joseph “Jay” Tomasack, brother Richard Avery, sister Martha Rynearson, sister Emily Tarala, brother Walter Avery, brother Eddie Avery, son in law William Earl Watson, and son in law Danny K. Ward.
