Alice Varney Leaderman

Alice Varney Leaderman passed away peacefully on May 20, 2021 at the Regional Hospice Center in Danbury, CT. Alice was born on August 7, 1946 in Springfield, MA to the late Nina (Heard) and Frederick D. Varney.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Arthur Leaderman of Ridgefield, CT, her daughter Elizabeth Leaderman and partner Thomas Craig of Norwalk, CT, her son Daniel Leaderman and wife Tina of Baltimore, MD, grandchildren, Charlotte and Ruby, and brother Frederick Varney Jr. and partner Cris Pryce of Marshfield, VT.

Alice was a writer and technical editor in the Washington D.C. area during her working years. She graduated from Barnard College and held an MFA from George Mason University.  She and her husband moved to Ridgefield CT in 2017, where Alice loved hiking and pursuing her expert interest in native plant gardening as a member of the Ridgefield Garden Club.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
