Alice Fernandes

Alice Fernandes, a lifelong resident of Danbury, CT, died peacefully at her residence on April 15, 2025. She was 94 years old.

Born on May 22, 1930 in Danbury, CT, daughter of the late Manuel and Nazare Fernandes. Alice was a graduate of Danbury High School.

On November 11, 1957 Alice married the love of her life Fernando Fernandes. Fernando predeceased his beloved wife. Alice worked as a secretary in the Office of Student Affairs at Western Connecticut State College. Alice was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Danbury, CT. She was a simple person who enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to read. She loved spending time with her many friends.  She did volunteer work for Sacred Heart church and for Regional Hospice. Her greatest passion in life was her family. She was a loving mother, VoVo and great grandmother.

Alice is lovingly survived by her children; Richard and his wife Lori, Michael and his wife Dale, her grandchildren; Nicholas (Caitlin), Melanie McKenzie (Ben), David, Daniel, her great grandchildren Jack and Luke and her brother; John (Elaine).

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 22,2025 at 10:30  am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (12 Cottage Street, Danbury) with interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery (Lake Avenue Ext, Danbury).
