Alfred Pyzio, of Bethel, CT, died peacefully on August 17, 2023 at Danbury Hospital. He was 87 years old.
Alfred was born into a large family. Growing up during difficult times, as the baby of the bunch, he didn’t have access to store bought toys. That didn’t stop him! He made his own toys, chiseled
a wooden horse, sawn a soccer ball, or tied two sticks to a string and pretended they were cows (if he had more sticks then they were dogs). The world was his playground, and nothing was able to stop him from having a good time.
Alfred loved his family with all his heart. He was always ready to help. No matter what the task was, he was there; from playing a pivotal role in the upbringing of his two daughters and grandchildren to putting together a working car using parts from two broken ones. His warmth, hard work and uplifting spirit was around his family, whenever they needed it. His grandchildren
meant the world to him. Everyone that he spoke with learned how artistically talented his granddaughter Anna was. He would show her artwork off to anyone that would listen. Alfred taught Marcin how to fix cars and he was there for his oldest grandson, ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. With his golden hands, he helped his daughter Bozena fix up an old house and he made it look new again. She can see the fruits of his work all around her house now.
In his final years, Alfred battled cancer and won the battle, gaining 7 more wonderful years with his loved ones. During this time, he kept enjoying nature; watching birds, right outside the window of his little house, as they feast at the bird feeder that he made himself, feeding a faun out of his hand, while the mom deer watched it on the side. He even raised a little wild chick, so caringly that as a grown bird it would come to his window whenever Alfred clapped his hands.
We will miss his positive attitude and wisdom, but his Infinite love will stay in our hearts forever.
